Robotic and manual total stations
Robotic instruments are usually among the highest-value items we buy, but older manual total stations can still have strong resale or refurbishment value. Useful information includes angular accuracy, reflectorless range, robotic tracking condition, radio/handle configuration, controller and prism package.
Common examples: Trimble S-series and SPS instruments; Leica TS-series; Topcon GT, PS and older robotic/manual families; Sokkia iX and related instruments; GeoMax Zoom and other professional models.
GNSS / GPS receivers and RTK systems
We buy network rovers, base-and-rover pairs, GNSS antennas and complete RTK packages. Value can change materially with model generation, constellation support, tilt/IMU features, internal UHF radio, cellular capability and controller/software included.
Common examples: Trimble R-series, Leica GS-series, Topcon HiPer, Carlson BRx, GeoMax Zenith, Spectra SP-series, CHC Navigation, Javad, Emlid and similar professional receivers.
Data collectors and field controllers
Controllers can be valuable by themselves or substantially increase the value of a complete instrument package. We look at operating system, battery condition, communications hardware, installed field software and whether software licenses can legally transfer with the device.
Laser scanners and specialized instruments
We evaluate terrestrial laser scanners, digital levels, specialty total stations and other professional measurement systems individually. These categories vary widely by generation and support status, so clear model photos are particularly important.
Accessories that matter
| Accessory | Why it can matter |
|---|---|
| Controller / tablet | Can turn a bare instrument into a field-ready package; software and licensing may affect value. |
| Batteries and chargers | Good batteries reduce the buyer's immediate replacement cost; failed batteries are still useful to disclose. |
| Prisms, poles and bipods | High-quality OEM accessories can add meaningful package value. |
| Radio handles / external radios | Important on many robotic total-station packages and RTK base setups. |
| Cases, cables and mounts | Completeness makes resale easier and helps protect equipment in shipment. |
What we usually do not pursue
Consumer handheld GPS units, inexpensive laser levels, generic construction accessories and very low-value items may not make economic sense to purchase individually. Include them when they are part of a larger professional equipment lot and we will tell you what is worth shipping.
